1. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
 

Role Summary

  • Responsibilities and duties for this position shall include, but not limited to, the following areas and activities. At management’s discretion, direction may be given for tasks outside the scope of work described

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  •  Apply Trade Expertise: Electrician, Mechanical Engineer or other

  •  Perform all routine preventative maintenance and curative maintenance

  • Maintain clean and tidy plant rooms

  • To carry out all repair and maintenance of Electric system and related equipment in accordance with the departmental standard

  • Carry To inspect, clean, maintain and repair all electrical system, low voltage -high voltage and distribution networks and systems

  • To maintain and repair all electrical appliances

  • To inspect, clean, maintain and repair all electrical lighting fixtures, flood - lights, neon signs and emergency lighting installations

  • To maintain emergency power supply and un-interruptible Power Supply systems

  • To service electrical motors and controls

  • To carry out preventive maintenance tasks on all electrical equipment

  • Maintain a level of broader knowledge which enables you to handle minor problems in all fields of the department

  • Attend to all types of repair and maintenance work in the Hotel premises, including any new additions /extensions to the Hotel or any other properties maintained by the Hotel

  • To carry out all repair and maintenance of Music & Audio-visual system and related equipment in accordance with the departmental standard.

  • Assists in executing all operational and maintenance procedures of the engineering and maintenance department, responsible to follow Hotel Rules and Regulations, maintain a friendly, neat and professional image to guests and colleagues, performs any duties related to the department, assists other departments whenever necessary

  • To responsible for the care and operation of the sound equipment in the conference rooms and other areas.

  • Assistant for customer multi-media presentations

  • Repair and maintain guest room facilities, light facilities, furniture and equipment

  • Assist with the implementation of the hotel’s preventative maintenance system

  • Prioritize work in line with guest requests and management

  • Inform superior of the status of repairs and pending costs and indicate when it would be reasonable to consider replacement

  • Record daily service work, including maintaining individual replacement costs along with time/task labor hours cost

  • Participate in instructing colleagues on the proper operation, safety procedures and cleaning of all equipment

  • Establish and maintain proper parts inventory levels

  • Conduct and/or participate in staff meeting regarding proper operating and maintenance practices of equipment

  • Implement and carry out maintenance program in accordance with established timeframes

  • Carry out and document regular inspections of plant and equipment in computerized system

  • Ensure that appropriate files are maintained and resources kept for future reference

  • Complete daily reports outlining work undertaken for the day

  • Explore and incorporate environmentally friendly initiatives

  • Efficient and effective use of recycling methods Asst. Chief Engineer in· Complete work orders as requested by the Shift Engineer, Maintenance Engineer or relation to your trade and other directives to meet customer requirements

Occupational Health and Safety Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate Awareness of OH&S policies and procedures and ensure all procedures are conducted safely and within OH&S guidelines and ensure your direct reports do the same

  • Be aware of duty of care and adhere to occupational, health and safety legislation, policies and procedures

  • Be familiar with property safety, first aid and fire and emergency procedures and operate equipment safely and sensibly

  • Initiate action to correct a hazardous situation and notify supervisors of potential dangers

  • Log security incidents and accidents in accordance with hotel requirement

2. REQUIRED QUALIFICATION

Required Skills 

  • Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with others; demonstrated ability to interact with customers, employees and third parties that reflects highly on the hotel, the brand and the Company.

  • Good communication and writing skills

  • Literate in the use of Microsoft Office

  • Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Diploma In electrical, Mechanical or equivalent

 

Experience 

  • Minimum 3 years of engineering experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
